Community Health Screening Days
Community Health Screening Days are designed to bring basic health screenings and education closer to people who may have difficulty accessing regular healthcare. When a concern is identified, we aim to help connect people with appropriate follow-up care and referrals.
The need
Many people go years between checkups, not because they refuse care, but because distance, cost, time, or trust stands in the way.
What we do
- Blood pressure screening
- Diabetes screening
- Anemia screening
- Vision screening
- Hearing screening
- Cancer awareness and screening referrals
- Oral health education and prevention
- Basic health consultations
- Referrals to clinics and hospitals
- Distribution of starter medications and supplies where appropriate
- Health education sessions
How it works
- 01
Plan the day with community leaders and local partners.
- 02
Run screening stations staffed by health professionals and trained volunteers.
- 03
Deliver health education on hygiene, nutrition, and chronic-care basics.
- 04
Refer to clinics or hospitals, and record what needs follow-up.
Community participation
Community members help choose the location and timing, spread word of the event, and support registration and translation.
Why it matters
A screening only matters if it leads somewhere. Pairing screening with education and referral turns a single day into an entry point to ongoing care.
